How this works

I make colour block jumpers from hardy British wool, for life outside. I make four colour-ways every year and I take orders once a month between September and May, when I close for a few months.

If you sign up to My Life in the Wind (it’s my newsletter and it’s free) you will find out everything you need to know about these jumpers and more.

Why I make them

I started making jumpers for my children when I couldn’t find any warm wool jumpers that were made from British wool and were not covered in dinosaur print or made from polyester. I had a lot of demand to make adult ones too and this has been my full time job ever since.

I make only a few colour ways every year and my range is deliberately small and limited - there is quite enough clothing out there on the internet! My hope is that my wool wear will keep you warm and dry, show a bit of flair (via the colour blocking) and last for a long time.

About Me

My Life in the Wind

I am most active on my newsletter. I send it weekly between September and May. It’s the best way to find out when the shop opens but is also where I write; about things like style, motherhood, sustainable fashion, work. It is popular and I have been urged to move it to Substack but for now, it’s here and there is no paywall. Sign on up, I won’t bombard you.

The wool I use

I use two types of British wool. Two colour-ways are made from Shetland wool which is thick, sturdy and totally weatherproof. The other two colour-ways (and the tank tops) are made from thinner British wool, perfect for layering.

I am committed to British wool (it seems mad to me that we import wool from the southern hemisphere). It is not as soft as merino or lambswool but it stands up to a lot of wear and weather and gets softer with age.
